Our Outreach work.

Our Associate Musicians can travel to you too! Specially designed travel packs allow us to set up a studio at your location. We run a number of different types of outreach work, which one would you like to try?

Taster sessions: One off workshops or a small series of facilitated workshops will allow you to identify your music making needs with Drake Music NI. Our facilitators will have a wide range of music making equipment with them to try out.

Music Programme Outreach: 8-12 weekly workshops will focus on a performance or recording that will result in a CD of original music to take home with you.

Long term commitment: Perhaps you are interested in taking part in a longer term arrangement? Some individuals have been coming to regular sessions for over 18 years. In that time you create a lot of music and it becomes an important part of your weekly routine. We are always welcoming new folk to our workshops who have the potential and will to keep creating.

Residentials: Summer residentials are an intensive few days of music making. Tutors and musicians of all abilities gather to create, play and socialise in venues across Northern Ireland.

We work with individuals with a wide range of perceived abilities.

When we book workshops for you, we ask for some information that would be of use to us in designing music making to your specific needs.

Who is the main contact person for this inquiry? How many users do you see taking part? How many Adults or children are there taking part? What are the nature of disabilities perceived within the group or with the individual? Will users be accompanied by carers, core workers, parents? Do you have funding available for workshops or are you in a position to make a contribution to the costs of the activities? Location – Where would you prefer the workshops to take place, at your location of choice or in one of our studios? Would you like this to be a one off project or a permanent term time workshop activity? Would the group like to work towards a performance or a recording?
