Our History And Achievements

Founded in November 1992 in the gym space of the old Crescent Arts Centre, Drake Music NI has over 30 years of experience in inclusive music-making. During that time, we have empowered more than 4,300 musicians, from ages 3 to 81, to design and perform on unique, accessible instruments, and have performed at prestigious venues including Belfast City Hall, the Opera House, Ulster Hall, Stormont, and internationally in Iceland, Chicago, Ferrara, and Dublin. We have also produced programs for the BBC, ITV, and Channel 4, and established fully accessible music studios in Belfast and Newry. In the face of challenges such as COVID-19, we remain committed to the creative future of our participants.
