Ensemble Series Designed For Integration
Our Ensemble Series is one of our flagship artistic programmes, running weekly across all three studio sites and reaching out throughout Northern Ireland. These sessions bring together musicians with and without disabilities, creating a level playing field where only creativity—not disability—is the measure of participation. Through composing and performing alongside their peers, musicians of all ages develop independence, self-worth, social integration, and a sense of equality. These ensembles not only break down barriers but also build stronger, more cohesive communities. Each programme involves carers, therapists, parents, volunteers, support workers, and peers, offering a rich, community-based approach to learning. By focusing on ability, our ensemble work promotes tolerance, empowerment, and genuine creative inclusion.
Sound Memories Workshops For Dementia And Alzheimer’s
Our Sound Memories programme provides music and reminiscence workshops in day centres, residential homes, and memory cafés. These sessions use music as a tool for unlocking memories, supporting those with early to mid-stage dementia and Alzheimer’s to reconnect with their past. Through radioscape and picture canvas workshops, participants engage in reminiscence practices, using music and imagery as coping mechanisms for frustration caused by memory loss. The result is often a sense of contentment, personal value, and connection to long-term associations. Sound Memories creates a space where creativity, recall, and well-being intersect, providing comfort and purpose through musical engagement.
